Dupixent
How Does Dupixent Work?
Service Description
Dupixent works by inhibiting the action of interleukin-4 and interleukin-13. These proteins play a major role in the chronic inflammation that characterizes severe atopic dermatitis. By reducing the overactive signaling of these proteins, Dupixent helps reduce inflammation and clear skin lesions. Dupixent is an excellent alternative to topical immunosuppressants like cyclosporine and methotrexate, both of which can cause side effects with prolonged use. Dupixent is administered as a subcutaneous injection. Your allergy doctor will be able to administer these injections using single-dose pre-filled syringes. The frequency of dosages will be determined by your doctor. Prior-Authorizations must be done with your insurance before receiving this medication. Our staff will do these authorizations and contact you once you are approved.
